COMING JUNE 9, 2012:Septic systems are a fact of life here in the Poconos of northeast PA
around Lake Wallenapaupack…and just about anywhere in rural Pike or Wayne County (and anywhere rural, period….) Some folks who are only familiar with central water and sewer shy away from homes with septic systems, but having a septic system is nothing to fear.
There are basic but important things homeowners should know when it comes to maintaining and caring for your system – a septic system is different from having city central or community sewer. Proper care needs to be taken to make sure inappropriate “stuff” stays OUT! 🙂
PPL is offering a free seminar at the beautiful Environmental Learning Center at Lake Wallenpaupack that will answer many if not all of your questions about septic systems. Below are the details:

Most homes in wooded areas have septic systems. How much do you know about yours? What does it mean when the grass is greener and thicker over your septic? What does it mean if your land perks or does not perk? Ron will cover all the pros and cons of these necessary systems and why a healthy system is important for water quality. Bring your questions as we explore a topic that often remains buried. Call 570-253-7001 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to register for this free program.
Ron Tussel is a PADEP certified Sewage Enforcement officer with over 20 years experience in the on-site sewage industry including testing, design, repair and installation.
