INSIDER TIPS – Wallenpaupack Lakefronts (Karen's Friday Five) — 4 Comments

  1. Such good advice, Karen. You are right…the worst that can happen is you hear “no”. Regroup and, if possible, write a better offer. It’s all about negotiating and having a professional on your side to help you find that sweet spot that leads to a sale!

  2. Lisa, thanks for the comment. This is the toughest part for some people – I think they’re either afraid of the rejection itself, or are afraid to insult the seller. My response to that is…it’s a business transaction and chances are pretty good that you’ll never cross paths with the seller again. Who cares if they get insulted? They may, but the probably won’t!

  3. Hi Karen,
Great stuf that only a local would know. I can’t tell you how many times I see agents who are clueless working out of the area of knowledge. Personally I’d rather refer a client out than try to be all things to everyone.

  4. Lynda, thank you for your comment. It is tough going into an area where you are an “outsider.” I showed property once that was WAY out of my area – almost an hour’s drive away – and I felt like a trespasser. ha ha. I don’t think I’ll do that again, but the problem was, I didn’t know any good agents in the area to trust my buyers with…so I took them myself.

I’m much more comfortable “at home” – where I grew up.
